The Dixon Sessions return for 2026. After a successful series of gigs in 2025, the Dixon Studio at the Palace Theatre will host a further series of Dixon Sessions featuring great local bands, both established and up and coming.
The first Dixon Session kicks off the series with a Spoken Word evening. On Friday 30 January, local poet Sam Browne is joined by Hollie Dee and The Cherry Scott Project for a special night of performance poetry.
Sam Browne is from Southend and originally set out to be a comedian but soon realised that his jokes rhymed and none of them were particularly funny. He pivoted to poetry and things began to click. Since this change of direction, Sam has amassed an online following of more than 100,000 followers across social media and tens of millions of views. At just 21 years of age, Sam is helping reshape the way young men think about masculinity and feminism one poem at a time.
Hollie Dee is a performance poet, well-respected on the spoken word circuit. She describes herself as a free spirit and performs heart-wrenching and thought provoking pieces that engage the audience, keeping them spell bound until the very end.
The Cherry Scott Project is the creative endeavour of Roy Storey & Cherry Scott.
Scott’s gritty urban words & Storey’s original music score produce an arty ambience with bursts of colourful energy that will keep the audience wanting more. Scott has supported John Cooper Clarke, Scroobius Pip, Luke Wright, Laura Taylor & Sonny Green to name a few & has performed at all of London’s venues & on the Essex festival circuit.
Future Dixon Sessions will be MG Boulter & The Grand Old Echo 26 February and The Bob Cullum Band & Pete Davies, 22 March.
Tickets for all spring 2026 Dixon Sessions are on sale now. Book online at palacetheatresouthend.co.uk or call 0343 310 0030. Tickets are just £12.
