Lindisfarne has developed a reputation for fast moving farces especially those by Essex playwright Ray Cooney, having performed many of his best in the last few years and to top it off the man himself agreed to be the group’s patron and brought his wife Linda to one of group’s matinee performances in 2016 to see the group perform one of his plays. Read more about that here!
2018 is no different with “Funny Money” a farce he wrote in the 90’s.

Mild mannered accountant Henry Perkins comes home late for his own birthday party, his wife Jean is needless to say worried when he presents a briefcase stashed with illicit cash. Then in true farce tradition it’s all chaos from there, with two detectives from London stations turning up, a befuddled cabbie, mistaken identity, their friends Betty and Jean who have come for dinner, all sucked into the mayhem and antics that ensue for just under two hours – it’s absolutely guaranteed to leave the theatre clutching your sides, chase away those winter blues and book your seat now.
