For The Signatures, this performance marks a major milestone. Originally formed in Essex, the band spent their early days building a following in local Southend venues.
Now, over ten years later, they are returning to their roots as the UK’s leading live Northern Soul band for what will be an emotional and high-energy homecoming gig.
The evening promises an authentic Northern Soul experience, featuring a ten-piece live band and the powerful vocals of Freddy Gillmore. The Signatures are widely regarded as the UK’s most authentic Northern Soul live show, having previously served as the house band for the Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show on BBC 6 Music.
Continuing their reputation for excellence, the band has backed many of the genre's original legends, including Tommy Hunt, Bobby Wilson, Dean Parrish, Sidney Barnes, Gloria Jones, and Eddie Holman. Lorraine Silver is the latest icon to join them on stage for this high-energy tour.
The spotlight in Southend will be shared with special guest Lorraine Silver, best known for her classic track "Lost Summer Love." Originally recorded when she was just 13 years old, the song became a massive staple at the legendary Wigan Casino and
remains a defining anthem of the Northern Soul movement.
In addition to performing her classic hits, the Southend show follows the highly anticipated release of Silver’s new album, 'Reimagined,' which was released on 15th May 2026, celebrating Lorraine’s 60 year career.
