This show is billed as Gerry and the Pacemakers Farewell tour. You have often performed with Gerry, are you disappointed that he’s leaving?
"Yes disappointed but sure he'll be back now and again"
The original Tremeloes started back in your school days when you got together with Alan Blakely and Alan Howard, later joined by Dave Munden and Ricky West(wood). How did you get your first big break?
"Butlins Ayr and at the same time BBC Saturday club"
You went on to great success with big hits like Twist and Shout and Do You Love me. At your peak, your record knocked the Beatles off the number 1 slot, but you decided to leave. What prompted you to make that decision?
"If you're on your own you earn more money"
Dave Munden, who was originally the singer / drummer often appears with you. What are the other guys doing now? Are you still in touch?
"Alan Howard retired, Rick Westwood retired, Alan Blakley deceased. Brian Poole was lead vocals from begining"
Chip Hawkes came into the group after you left the Tremeloes and had continued success with them. There were hits such as Silence is Golden and Suddenly You Love Me. Meanwhile, you left the music industry and became involved in a family business. What made you decide to join up with Chip and start touring again?
"Sorry your information is incorrect. Chip and me were in the band together for more than 2 years this is why i joined chip again. Always good friends."
The Tremeloes’ music has always been seen as Rock and Roll, upbeat and lively. Do you think that is why it is still popular today?
"Yes I hope so"
It goes down in musical history that the Beatles auditioned for Decca records and were turned down. Not many people know that the Tremeloes were chosen instead. Why do you think that happened?
"We did a better audition on the day and had already worked for Decca on many backing sessions"
