DALISO CHAPONDA
BLAH BLAH BLACKLIST TOUR 2019
FINALIST BRITAIN’S GOT TALENT 2017
Friday 22nd November, Palace Theatre, Westcliff on Sea
Over 200 million views on Facebook and Youtube!

“Laugh after laugh after laugh”            Amanda Holden
“My face is hurting from laughing”  Alesha Dixon
“You should be a comedy super star” David Walliams
“I could see you hosting your own show” Simon Cowell
Daliso Chaponda has announced a UK tour starting in 2019 and taking in 36 dates after premiering at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival.  The tour entitled ‘Blah Blah Blacklist’ starts on 19th September at Darwen’s Library Theatre and culminates on 15th March at Salford’s Lowry.

'Full of sharp one-liners and well-crafted gags...a real talent’  METRO ★★★★

The Malawian born stand up shot to fame and captured the hearts of the nation on Britain’s Got Talent where he reached the final and was Amanda Holden’s Golden Buzzer act. He has gone on to amass an outstanding 200 million plus YouTube & Facebook views!  His last stand up show ‘What The African Said’ sold out a 50 + date UK tour and received much critical acclaim.

'He is hot property' EVENING STANDARD

In his hilarious, daring new show ‘Blah Blah Blacklist’ Daliso looks at disgraced blacklisted celebrities and historical figures we're ashamed we once admired and who now have let us down. There's also the small matter of family member arrests, exploding buildings in his home country, the enterprising Malawian who tried to blackmail Daliso and being accused by some of his own community that he’s 'not Black enough'…
'An expert entertainer. Gets laughs from topics other comedians shun' THE GUARDIAN

His father was a refugee who became an admired and respected Malawian diplomat until false accusations against him caused a backlash. He was proved innocent but naively thought that being cleared of charges would clear his name in public opinion.  Daliso discusses this and how social media does not care about court decisions!

'An intelligent, skilfully whittled show'  THE LIST

He talks about the angry reception to some of last year's show and mocks the racists that decided to hate him because of one difference in opinion. He also discusses people who have been "cancelled" and the absurdity of thinking you can remove all trace of somebody because you disagree with them.   People wanted to cancel him
after saying on live TV that he didn't think Lord Sugar was racist!

Daliso is the writer and star in his critically acclaimed BBC Radio 4 show ‘Citizen of Nowhere’, and appear on The Apprentice: You’re Fired, News Quiz, and The Now Show.   His Radio 4 series has been commissioned for a second and he is currently creating and curating an exhibit for Liverpool World Museums on Colonial artefacts – both will be out this autumn.

He has performed around the world and at the Edinburgh, Melbourne, Singapore, and Cape Town Comedy Festivals.  Last year he starred in his BBC Radio 4 series ‘Citizen of Nowhere’. In addition to Stand-up Comedy, Daliso is also a prolific fiction writer. He has published science fiction and was a finalist in the ‘Writers of The Future’ competition run by L. Ron Hubbard publishing based in the USA and he has had his murder mysteries and fantasy fiction in numerous magazines and anthologies.
