talkSPORT’s legendary John Motson has spent half a century behind the microphone, has commentated on 10 World Cups, 6 World Cup finals, 9 European Championships, nearly 3,000 club matches and 29 FA Cup finals and even alongside Mohammed Ali.
He’s crossed swords with Brian Clough, tackled Fergie and even commentated alongside Jack Nicholson.
Now Motty is going on the road, later this month alongside talkSPORT’s Paul Hawksbee, for a special show in Southend on Monday March 30th.
In conversation with Paul – host of the Hawksbee and Jacobs afternoon show – John will talk candidly about his life and career, remembering the brilliant highs and some of the devastating lows.
The show will be packed with unheard stories about the players and managers that have shaped British football ever since Motty first slipped on the famous sheepskin.
Join Motty for a funny, poignant and highly entertaining trip through his 50 years in football and broadcasting.
John Motson said: “I’ve been lucky to have a career reporting on the thing I love most - football. An evening talking football is an evening well spent, and in the company of the hilarious Paul Hawksbee it will no doubt be a fun evening as we recall some of my funniest moments and anecdotes from the world of football and broadcasting. I’m really looking forward to being back in Southend again ”
