Following its hit run at Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Shoddy Theatre are taking slapstick comedy A Shoddy Detective And The Art Of Deception on a UK Tour.
A bumbling detective is called upon to uncover the mystery of a priceless stolen painting, but when he cannot solve it himself he is forced to enlist the help of an old nemesis. Together, the pair must interrogate the many characterful suspects that reside at the manor, in order to catch the conniving culprit and solve the crime of the century.
Shoddy Theatre was first established in 2018 when six, soon-to-be graduating actors from East 15 devised their final term show “The Art of Deception”. The show was such a hit that it was awarded funding from Essex University to become an established theatrical production company and that’s when Shoddy Theatre was born. Since then Shoddy have sold out their run at The Camden Fringe 2019 and The New Normal Festival 2020, when the pandemic hit, they turned their attention to social media and produced several sketches post to our followers, which gained over 100k views from people across the world.
Running Time 120mins | Suitable for ages 12+ (contains sexual references and humour)
Supported by Arts Council England
