With the Easter holidays just upon us and the prospect of sunny days and day trips aplenty, now's the time to start planning ahead.
If you're thinking of a day out in London with the kids, the Horrible Histories team are re-launching their fantastic and novel river cruise along the Thames. Terrible Thames is a cruise trip with a difference, embarking at Tower Bridge Quay.
Just as we are about to set off we are joined by young Billy and his teacher, (played brilliantly by Harry Sutherland and Rob Cummings below) who make the journey super fun. Billy is very cheeky but is obviously more clever than his teacher gives him credit for as he has the kids and adults chuckling with his knowledge of the Thames and, not least, the varying ways 'poo' has been associated with it. We Brits do love a bit of toilet humour and the kids think it's hilarious!

The cruise takes us past the Tower of London, Cleopatra's needle, Westminster, the Oxo Tower and the Globe, to name but few well known landmarks, and we are told all sorts of interesting and fascinating stories; some that were completely new to me. Pay attention grown-ups, you will certainly learn something too.
You'll also be treated to some jolly sea shanties along the way. You don't have to join in, but it's much more fun if you do. And be careful if you're sitting in the aisle, you could get accused of being some sort of undesirable baddy from Tudor times - I didn't do it...honest!
Billy and his teacher take you on a fantastic journey to discover the terrible truth about London’s most iconic landmarks. Combining immersive theatre in Horrible Histories style, the tour will surprise and shock in equal measure as it delivers its unique take on London to thrill both children and adults alike.
Whoever says that history is boring needs to come onboard this fabulous and unique trip, a fun filled 45 minutes for all the family!
