The Naked Truth is about 5 very different women who sign up for Gabby’s pole dancing class at the local village hall, none of them have any idea what lies ahead – each of them has their own reasons for taking up pole dancing, whether it be to restore confidence in their body, get a guy, keep a guy, lose weight, or embark upon a potential new career.
However, when one of the women receives some devastating news, the others soon pull together and decide to turn their new skill into a fund-raising event. As each of the women’s stories unfold and unravel, they share laughter and tears in this hilariously, sad, and ultimately moving play, a call to all women, celebrating strength through adversity.
The Naked Truth is a play that genuinely has heart and soul, a play for women, about women, that men must absolutely see (if they dare!) The cast of 6 very talented women, Cat Barnes, Abigail Wilson, Sarah Chandler, Mel Hastings, Sophie Holland and Sophia Gigantelli have all had to learn to pole dance to make the show a success and they all do it with ease. Completing the cast are Chloe Good and Simon Bitensky.
The show is directed by Steve Hulse with Simon Bitensky assisting, supported by Dan Crysell.
With this month being Cancer awareness month, for every ticket sold £1 will be donated to Cancer Research as well, so not only will audience members have a great night out at the theatre but they will be supporting charity as well.
The Naked Truth runs from Thursday 6th October - Saturday 8th October, Dixon Studio, Palace Theatre, Westcliff. Tickets https://southendtheatres.org.uk/online/tickets-the-naked-truth-southend-2022
