FILMS FOR CHRISTMAS AT THE PALACE THEATRE

Sunday 18th December

You are warmly invited to join us for our traditional seasonal film fare
Separate performances : All tickets £6
1pm: MIRACLE ON 34th STREET

In this wonderful 1994 version of this heart-warming, feel-good story Sir Richard Attenborough plays Kris Kringle, the kindly old department store Santa whose devotion to the cause makes him very popular indeed. He also believes he is the true Santa Claus, which upsets rival retailers.

So, when a young girl (the store manager’s daughter) tells Kris that what she wants most for Christmas is a fully-functioning family, he stops at nothing to help her. But the rival store owners, determined to discredit him, take him to court, where he and his lawyer must prove he is the real thing.

4pm: JINGLE ALL THE WAY

Howard Langston (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is a busy executive who wants to keep in his son's good books by buying him the present at the top of his Christmas list: the Turbo Man doll. The only problem is that Turbo Man is the most popular toy in America and most department stores have sold out. So a frenzied Howard spends a desperate Christmas Eve attempting to track down his son's dream present, but finds himself in constant conflict with a crazed postman on a similar mission.

Action hero Schwarzenegger plays very much against type, but shows he is a comedy natural as he stops at nothing to make his sons Christmas complete.

7.30pm: WHITE CHRISTMAS

One of the all-time seasonal favourites! Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney and Vera Ellen star in this magical Christmas film. Irving Berlin's songs and dances are performed by two happy couples who discover that love, romance and a Christmas Eve snowfall make everyone's dreams come true.

The Palace Theatre will provide the perfect setting for this timeless seasonal classic, with its wonderful, feel-good story and performances.
